About me
A page “About me” – where do I start? How much is relevant? I suppose all is!!
I was born in 1957 in the county of Surrey, in England. Left school at 17 in 1974. Joined “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” in 1976. Married in 1981. After school went to work in IT. After about 5 years started an Open University degree in psychology, which I completed on 1991. While on the degree we moved to Scotland where I did 6 months training and worked with couples for the Scottish Marriage Guidance Council. Moved back south and with young family did not feel time was there for further counselling opportunities. 15 years later, in 2006 took a certificate course in counselling and listening skills. In 2007 began a diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and Focusing. I “left” though after completing the Certificate level. In June 2009 completed a three-month course with Cruse, a UK bereavement care charity and was accepted as a bereavement volunteer. In Jan 2010 started the 2nd year of the Person-Centred Diploma course at another place, which I completed September 2011. Jan 2009 began and am still counselling as a volunteer at a youth agency.
