As It Is or As I Am – the Art of Becoming

A journey … towards … being

Illness, concentration & guilt

Visited my GP yesterday, having been coughing increasingly over the weekend. Another chest infection! Had one last month. Dr implied it’s a continuation? Prescribed amoxicillin. Asked about work. Said didn’t feel able to go in today. He then signed me off for the whole week! That was a surprise, as usually unless patients ask that is not offered. Today, though, still feel very ill.

Hard to concentrate. Spent most of yesterday in bed. Tried to read to make better use of time but there was no real concentration. Will again try reading and perhaps writing today. Always books to read 🙂

A few weeks back asked to give a presentation on guilt at church, by the Relief Society (LDS womens organisation). On guilt is not the best title. More on how to not feel guilt over things that women tend to feel guilty over when they need not, or is that should not? Apparently, it is very prevalent amongst the women, for me raising the question, is this a gender difference? Some more reading :). Considering asking them to complete the survey below couple of weeks before hand, to get a feel if there are specific areas of guilt that are more commonly felt. As always any thoughts much appreciated. Guess, though, shouldn’t post too much here of the class/workshop, in case nobody turns up!!

Guilt survey

Some of the following questions are very personal. I hope you feel able to answer them.  Because these topics are mentioned it does not mean you should or should not feel guilt about them. They are areas where guilt is often felt, rightly or wrongly.  I’m just trying to get a feel of where we are collectively.
